Conclusion
"People living in the Stone Age were very similar to us today"
Similarities
- We, as a group believe that in many ways, the Cavemen are very similar to us today. They communicated with each other as we do now which proves that they were developing and improving their intelligence in socialising with each other.
- The Cavemen were also similar to us because they, like us had a sense of humour. They loved having a joke around, however find the most humour when someone of the tribe hurts or injures themselves. They don't verbally tell jokes, they will physically do something amusing.
- The Cavemen were just as close to their families as we are with ours. When we are seperated from our families we feel that we need to be reunited with them. This was the same with the cavemen. After long trips hunting for food, the cavemen would be happy and greatful to be back with the support and love of their families.
- The Neanderthals lived and interbred with the Cro - Magrons as we Homo -Sapiens were also. Although it is a different generation to us, we also associated with them.
- Human's today wear most clothes that are made out of different animal furs, and it is also what the Caveman wore. They used to hunt their food and use the fur for their clothing. We wear similar things today, purely for a fashion purpose.
Differences
- People in the Stone Age were different to us as they didn't have imagination. This led them to not think ahead and about the future and just worry about what happened there and then. It also prevented them to use common logic, where they lacked building useful things to prepare them for the future. This is one of the reasons why some species of Cavemen died out.
- The Cavemen were always hunting for food. Unlike us, we can go to the supermarket and purchase supplies for us and our families, whereas the Cavemen had to physically survive on what they could find.
- The Cavemen were much stronger mentally and physically than humans are today. After a major fall or injury, it was in their nature to simply get up and get over their fall as if nothing had happened. They adapted to the land, and in a way, accepted the fact that they would be injured.
- They had different diets, and ate most things they caught raw, as they were too large to be cooked over a small fire.
- They had a larger brain than we had today. Our modern mind is quite smaller than theirs, as in a way we are different species to them.
-They could not speak, and communicated differently to us. Although Caveman did attempt to communicate each other, it wasn't in the sophisticated manner of how we speak to each other today.
- They were a different build to us. Humans today are much taller and slightly slimmer, whereas the Cavemen were much shorter and had a stronger build to us.
OUR OPINION
As a group, we believe that the statement "People in the Stone Age were very similar to us today", is a true accusation. In many ways the Cavemen were similar from the way they communicated and cared for each other, to the way that they clothed themselves.
Like us, the Cavemen enjoyed re-uniting with their family after a long hunting trip. They were always happy when it came to seeing their family again.
The Cavemen also had a decent sense of humour as well. Although they didn't verbally tell jokes, they would physically do things, to make others in their tribe laugh and enjoy themselves.
Therefore, as a group, we believe that the Caveman aren't so different from us. Although their are many differences, the main aspects of their life and personality are relatively the same to ours.
